Hello, and welcome to waterskiergreetingcards.com! This site was founded on the creativity and inspiration of Russ Tarlton, a guy who discovered water skiing at the age of 9, and did it for about 3 years...then at the age of 34, he started water skiing again, and ended up being a competition water skier for 15 years!

Russ won 1st place in his very first tournament, at 35 years old, and at his last ski tournament, he won the Men IV (45-55 year old range)...so he knows his way around a starting dock, a slalom course, and could barefoot it with the best of 'em. Russ was in a wetsuit at any opportunity, and was always ready to get his water skis on, or his wake board wet.

Russ developed and patented a two-person slalom ski in 1977, and custom-built several laminated teak wood versions of it. He had a ton of fun at ski shows, competitions and just at the lake - using various versions of the double tandem that measured approximately 6' 8" long! Needless to say, it came to mind one day that water skiers (especially competition water skiers) have birthdays too! And other occasions to celebrate too. Well, Russ has a knack for clever ideas, so he decided that he'd develop a line of greeting cards geared specifically to the water skiing community. The cards are custom illustrated, and light-hearted fun - and cover several categories, including all occasion cards, birthday, and holiday cards are coming for 2007. Trick skiiers, barefooters, slalom, jump, show skiers, and recreational skiers will all get a kick out of the cards as well.
